how we fine-tune your landscape design until it’s just right

when i start a landscape design project, whether it’s in naperville, plainfield, batavia, geneva, wheaton, downers grove, lisle, or anywhere in the western suburbs of chicago, the first step is always a good conversation. we talk about your vision, your style, how you want to use the space, and the feeling you want to create when you step outside your back door. sometimes you have a clear picture in mind, and other times it’s more of a vibe—and that’s totally fine. either way, we start by dreaming it out loud.

once i get a feel for what you're looking for—whether it’s a rustic backyard retreat in geneva, a clean and modern patio in naperville, or a pollinator-friendly garden in downers grove—I put together a custom design. this includes layout ideas, plant selections, hardscape elements, and more. then comes one of my favorite parts of the process: refinement. this is where the magic happens.

we sit down together and walk through the design. you tell me what you love, what feels off, or what you'd like to see differently. maybe we swap out stone materials, shift a pathway, add more native plants, or adjust the shape of a patio. i tweak and tailor the plan until it aligns perfectly with your vision.

for me, landscape design isn’t just about curb appeal—it’s about creating an experience. i want your outdoor space to feel like an extension of your home. whether you’re entertaining friends in wheaton, relaxing with family in batavia, or growing veggies in lisle, the design should support your lifestyle.

by the end of the process, you’ll have a personalized landscape plan that reflects your taste, serves your needs, and feels like you. it’s thoughtful, intentional, and rooted in the way you live—exactly how it should be.
