our love for firepits at home
we’re a little firepit crazy at my house. we have three different ones, and each serves its own purpose. there’s just something about sitting around a fire that brings everyone together, especially when the weather starts to cool down here in the western suburbs.
our biggest firepit is made from eden outcropping stone and sits recessed into the ground. it’s perfect for big bonfires and can handle a good pile of brush. this is the one we use when we want to stay up late, talk, and just relax under the stars. we also have a round corten steel cooking firepit with a grate and large outcropping stones that double as benches. that one’s great for casual meals — cooking over the fire is fun, and our daughter love helping out.
on our patio, we have an extra large round corten steel firepit surrounded by adirondack chairs. it’s modern, simple, and easy to maintain. it also has a steel cover so it can be used as a table when not being used as a firepit. totally versatility. we like to gather there for a movie night, projecting a film onto the garage wall and enjoying the warmth from the fire. it’s one of those setups that makes you appreciate being home.
firepits have become a big part of how we spend time as a family. they’re great for gathering friends, cooking outdoors, or just winding down after a long week. if you’ve been thinking about adding one to your backyard in naperville, plainfield, batavia, geneva, wheaton, downers grove, lisle, or anywhere in the western suburbs of chicago, i’d love to help you design the perfect setup. it’s one of the easiest ways to make your outdoor space more welcoming and enjoyable year-round.
