snow on the ground but spring landscapes are already taking shape
it’s a cold, snowy day here in the western suburbs of chicago, and looking out the window it’s a little hard to believe that spring is right around the corner. the ground is covered in snow, the air is crisp, and everything feels quiet for the moment. but behind the scenes, this is actually one of the busiest times of year for landscape design. while winter lingers outside, i’m spending these days indoors working through landscape design plans and preparing estimates for upcoming landscape construction projects across naperville, aurora, plainfield, batavia, geneva, glen ellyn, wheaton, downers grove, and lisle.
winter is when so many homeowners begin dreaming about their outdoor spaces again. after months of being indoors, people start imagining warm evenings on a custom patio, gathering around a fire pit with friends, or finally creating the backyard retreat they’ve been thinking about for years. this is when the real planning begins. i’ve been designing outdoor living spaces that include natural stone walkways, custom patios, retaining walls, garden beds, and thoughtful planting plans that will bring color and life back to the landscape once spring arrives.
one of the things i love most about this time of year is that every design starts as an idea on paper. a backyard that might currently be covered in snow slowly turns into a fully imagined space with structure, movement, and purpose. landscape design allows us to look ahead and plan every detail of a landscape installation so that when the weather finally warms up, we’re ready to get to work bringing those ideas to life.
even though the snow is still falling today, we’re already looking ahead to the busy season of landscape construction that comes with spring. before long, job sites throughout naperville, aurora, plainfield, batavia, geneva, glen ellyn, wheaton, downers grove, and lisle will be buzzing with activity as patios are installed, planting beds are built, and outdoor living spaces start taking shape.
so while winter still has a little time left, it’s actually the perfect moment to begin planning your landscape renovation. starting the landscape design process now gives us time to thoughtfully plan your space and schedule your project so it’s ready to move forward when the warm sunny days finally arrive in the western suburbs of chicago.
