simple abundance in landscape design: building a rooted brand with intention
when i started rooted, i spent more time than i probably should have choosing the logo—but looking back, it feels like a quiet act of intention. in a world that moves fast, especially in landscape design and landscape construction across naperville, aurora, plainfield, batavia, geneva, glen ellyn, wheaton, downers grove, and lisle, it felt important to slow down and choose something that actually meant something. i wanted it to feel grounded, simple, and true to who we are—not trendy, not loud, just honest.
over time, i’ve had so many people comment on it, and it always catches me a little off guard in the best way. because to me, it represents more than just a brand—it reflects how i see outdoor living spaces. thoughtful, intentional, and connected to something deeper. whether i’m working on custom landscape design, patio design, or hardscape installation in the western suburbs of chicago, that same mindset shows up again and again.
today we’re taking our new f350, new dump trailer, and new skid steer in to be logo’d, and it feels like one of those small but meaningful milestones. seeing the trucks, equipment, uniforms, and even business cards all come together with the same clean, simple aesthetic—it’s not about perfection, it’s about consistency. it’s about creating something recognizable and calm in a busy world, something that feels steady and rooted no matter where you see it.
that idea of simplicity carries into the work itself. in landscape construction, it can be easy to overcomplicate things—but i’ve found that the most beautiful outdoor living spaces are often the ones that feel effortless. using natural stone, beautiful plantings, and sustainable landscaping practices allows the design to breathe. it creates spaces that not only look beautiful, but feel right—functional, welcoming, and built to last in our midwest climate.
simple abundance, to me, isn’t about having more—it’s about choosing better. better materials, better design, better intention. it’s about creating outdoor spaces in naperville, aurora, plainfield, batavia, geneva, glen ellyn, wheaton, downers grove, lisle, and throughout the western suburbs of chicago that support real life—spaces where families gather, where quiet moments happen, and where nature is invited back in.
when everything—from a logo to a landscape—is created with that kind of care, it shows. not in a loud way, but in a lasting one. and that’s always the goal.
